There  were 60 people and more who came out to the rally on Gulfstream Blvd. and #41 yesterday.  We had those that arrived before the 4:00 PM starting time and stayed till after the 6:00 PM ending time.  Many came as their schedule allowed and stayed as long as possible.  Others joined in spontaneously while driving by, when they saw our group enthusiastically displaying our signs and flags.  We had people of all ages and persuasions there to represent their beliefs about our invasion and involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq.  We had college students and veterans of wars, standing side by side proud to be there to do what they could to spread the message that war is destructive to all.

Sadly, we have had to gather here in the same location for another year.   For some it was their first time, for several dedicated and persevering stalwarts, it was another Friday afternoon that they were doing this... for too many years . 

So many of you commented that the positive response from the passers-by in the form of beeping horns, smiles and waves,  made you feel so good about taking time to be a part of this worthy cause.  We even offered smiles and positive comments for those who didn't agree with us; those who showed their disapproval with rude gestures and words.  We wonder what it will take for them to come to the realization that we rally,  because we want to bring all  troops home safely and unharmed to their loved ones while having compassion for all innocent victims of wars. Thanks for your control and patience.

If you were lucky enough to have caught the coverage on local radio station WSLR 96.5, you would have heard live interviews with several of our people. We appreciate this active station's help in spreading the word.

Continue  thinking about your role in building a future for peace.  Join in with people who are willing to get involved in their community and world, making it a better place for all.  Come to the next event, bring another person.  Please let your friends know who were part of our group yesterday and those that may want to be, we welcome them.  Together we can make a change.
