SWFCPJ Takes to the Streets for Health Care

Over 50 supporters of health care reform waved signs and banners on Friday, September 4, at the Gulfbreeze corner of Route 41 in Sarasota from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.  The vigil was organized in less than 48 hours by the Coalition Executive Committee who had participated two days earlier in front of the Sarasota Office of Congressman Vern Buchanan at a vigil promoted by MoveOn. org.  Friday's night's event extended the history of the SWFCPJ that began during the Bush Administration with protests that took place every Friday afternoon.  Joining the latest effort of the Coalition were once again representatives of MoveOn.Org, the Sarasota Democratic party, Organizing for America, and the Manatee DEC.
