Understanding Islam in America
Author, educator and activist, Samar Jarrah leads in the local scene while linking with global concerns related to Islam and Muslims. Her book, Arab Voices Speak to American Hearts, provides insight on the varied perspectives on creating peace on a planet. The focus of this talk will be Islam in spiritual terms and being Muslim in societal terms. All are invited to start a process of better understanding of how faith can heal our world.
Samar Jarrah is an author, professor and recipient
of 2008 Duisberg Peace Award. She will be avialable to sign copies of Arab Voices Speak to American Hearts and for Q&A. Her address may kick-off a study group among compassionate citizens concerned with issues related to Islam.
